Our U8 and U10 squads are still playing in their blitzes and, on Saturday, hosted a successful blitz in Carnew.
The U12s competed in the U12 Go Games blitzes before entering the all-county Mini-League. So far, they have played Annacurra, Greystones and Kiltegan. The U13 Championship starts in August and this will prove valuable experience for those U12s playing full camogie with the U13 and U14 squads.
The U14s have had a great season so far, beating Bray Emmets and Kiltegan among others in the League. They were pipped at the post by Donard-Glen and Knockananna along the way. The Summer Sizzlers competition will be getting underway shortly and the Championship is scheduled to start at the end of July.
Our side of the U16 League had a mixed season with many walkovers. But a victory against Annacurra was secured, with losses to Ballinacor/Aughrim and also to Annacurra recorded. Fortunately, many of the U16s also got a run-out during the Minor blitzes in March and May, with the final Minor blitz pencilled in for August 22 in Ballinakill.
The Minors and U16s all help to make up the numbers on the Junior team, which competed in a mixed Junior/Intermediate League competition and the small-sided Summer Sizzlers competition.
In the meantime, the club committee would like to thank all the players, coaches, and parents for their whole-hearted support during the year so far. And a big shout out to our new referees: Millie Brennan, Aisling Balfe, Ella Doran, and Maire Doran – they’re a great resource for the club.

U12 Hurling Div 1A
Carnew 4 – 6 Kiltegan 5 – 11
Kiltegan got off to a great start and had built up a three goal and 5 point lead by half time. Carnew left it until the second half to try to salvage some foothold in the game, but unfortunately they ran out of time when the final whistle was blown.
A big improvement by the Carnew lads in the second half meant that it was competitive and enjoyable to watch. Kiltegan, who were skilful and strong in every position, were happy to hear the final whistle in the end as Carnew had outplayed and outscored them in the second half. Great scores by Thomas Collins and Daniel Redmond gave Carnew a fighting chance, while Will Molloy in goal and Maurice Sheil in the backline were busy for most of the game.
Will Molloy made some really skilful saves and is playing very well in goals this year. Billy Molloy also got on the score sheet with a brilliant shot to the back of the net. Cahill Rooney and Tadgh Kelly were also notable for Carnew.
