Annual Children’s Summer Reading Programme 2015 Greystones Library

Fabulous pack now available to encourage children to read over the summer months.

Children read a book,  get their card stamped and write a few words about their book.

Card fills up during the summer.  Children develop a sense of achievement.

Remember the old saying:  Good readers make good leaders.



Greystones Cancer Support is seeking your 1c and 2c coins.

They are going out of circulation anyway.


Get the jam jars out !!

Greystones Cancer Support will make good use of these small coins.

They will turn them into big work.

Centre only has books that are donated.


Books that are needed include:

          Any type of schoolbook or textbook for reuse or recycling,  including college.

          Condition or age of books does not matter.

          Unsuitable books will be recycled.

          Copy books,  workbooks,  college notes for recycling.

          Pleases separate these from hard cover books.

          Loose leaf folders in good condition for reuse are welcome.

Walk up Lugnaquilla,  the highest mountain in Leinster !!

Lugnaquilla is the highest mountain outside of Kerry,  925 metres above sea level.

This challenging but accessible mountain is one of the best walks in the Wicklow Mountains.

On a clear day,  it offers breathtaking views over the Wicklow mountains and far beyond.

Series of fully guided walks are now being organised by Footfalls Walking Holidays.

Stop at Longford on the way to visit recently restored St. Mel’s Cathedral.

Guided tour of the Cathedral.

Possible stop for coffee in the original site of the Cathedral in Ardagh.



Continue to Mullagh for lunch in Kilian’s Lodge Hotel,  1:00 p.m.

Visit to St. Kilian’s Heritage Centre,  St. Kilian’s Well + St. Kilian’s Parish Church Mullagh.

A group of therapists give their time to provide therapies to members of the public.

In exchange for the treatment,  a suggested donation of €15 may be made.

The money donated is given to local charities or groups who are felt to need support.


All the therapists are qualified and have their own insurance.
