Long wait over for students

Almost 58-thousand Leaving Cert students from Wicklow and around the country will receive their exam results today. One student has got nine A1s, while eight have got 8 A1s.
There’s also been a large increase in ordinary level maths grades. Students can collect their results from their schools, or online from noon on examinations.ie.
The Education Minister says the rising failure rate for Higher Level Maths is not out of line with other Leaving Cert subjects.

58,000 students are receiving their exam results today – with one student earning 9 A1s – and eight securing 8 A1s.

The rate of students failing Higher Level Maths has risen for the third year in a row – from 4-point-2 per cent last year to 5-point-2 per cent.

Minister Jan O’Sullivan says it’s been a ‘very positive year’ for Leaving Cert students, and added that the Maths results are ‘normal’.
