Aughrim Rangers Soccer Academy
Aughrim Rangers soccer academy for 5 to 9 year old boys and girls will start on Saturday 5th Sept at 11am at the community sports field. It will run every Saturday for 1 hour until May and costs €40. If you have not already registered there will be a registration session afterwards at 12pm Saturday. Annacurra Goes Strictly
Annacurra GAA Club are hosting a ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ night. The organisers and participants are very much looking forward to the upcoming fundraiser which takes place on Friday 16th October 2015 for one night only in Amber Springs Hotel, Gorey.

Thirteen couples all of whom are well known from around the locality have enlisted for this event. Gents – Dean Barnes ; Richard Clune; Tony Doyle; Bob Fitzgerald; Ted Horan; Jon Hynes; Paul Mc Donald; Patrick Moules; Chris Nolan; Martin O’Brien; Nevan O’Sullivan; Mick Robinson and Kevin Stapleton. Ladies – Niamh Armstrong, Denise Byrne; Emily-Rose Byrne; Michelle Cullen; Ciara Healy; Sharon Keogh; Marie Lawless; Aideen Mc Allister; Jenna Nolan; Jamie O’Neill; Sarah O’Neill; Nicole Quigley and Niamh Shannon. Under the guidance of gifted Kate O’Connor, Elevation School of Performing Arts, our thirteen couples are getting into the spirit of things and having great fun learning how to DANCE. The Saltee is the place to be on Saturday 05th September for the official Annacurra Goes Strictly Launch Night. All welcome.
 
Community Games
Summer is almost over and our children return to school this week. Community Games had a fantastic two weekends at the National Community Games Festival in Athlone in August. We were well represented by our two handwriters Laci Jane Shannon and Sammy Harpur. Our long Puck girl Katie O’Byrne, U-8 athlete Ciara Leccardi, U-15 Mixed relay team Sarah Lalor, Aoibhinn Daly O’Brien, Cian Byrne Thayer and Rory Shannon. Finall our dancers who did us so proud by bringing back medals to County Wicklow. A National Winner Solo Dance U-16 Ciara Shannon and National Second place winners Sarah Lalor and Ciara Shannon. Well done to you both. Congratulations to everyone who took part in their events you did your area and county proud and you are all winners.

Athletics will be back in a few weeks but we will let you know date so continue to enjoy the little break as you will be soon training hard again.
 
Winners
Congratulations to Ciara Shannon who won Gold in the U16 Solo Dance in the Community Games at the weekend. She also took home a second place in the Group Dance with Sarah Lalor. Well done girls.

Gaa lotto
Results for August 24. No jackpot winner. Numbers drawn 15-18-19-28 . No match 3 winners, Prize money next week €3.700 euro. Draw held in the Saltee on Monday night.

Library
Opening times for Aughrim Library are as follows Tuesday 3-5 Wednesday 3-5 and 6-60 until 8-30 Friday 11-1 and 3-5 Saturday 2-4. Membership free. Photocopying available.
