Last Monday saw our athletics training back up and running. It was a great night with excited children. A big thank you to our returning coaches and some new volunteers too. We also had some Transition Year students helping out as they will complete part of their An Gaisce award with our club. We are back from now on at 7pm every Monday evening in the Sports Complex hall and field for all children from 4 and upwards and our adults are back training with Tara.
Our AGM takes place on Thursday October15th at 9pm in the Sports Complex. Please come and support your club. Its good to come and see what we are about and we promise we wont give you a job.!!
Church of Sacred Heart
Commencing on Tuesday October 13th. there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament between
8 a.m. and 10.00.a.m. each morning (Monday to Friday) inclusive in Church of the Sacred Heart, Aughrim.
This will be followed immediately by Prayers and Holy Communion each morning.
Months Mind Mass
The Month’s Mind Mass for Fr. Edward Barry will be celebrated in Church of the Sacred Heart, Aughrim next Saturday October 17th at 8.00.p.m.
New to You Charity Shop
Helping towards the upkeep of the Pavilion, Fishing Park and village of Aughrim. We have had a very good summer, so our stock is low. We are appealing for donations of saleable goods – bric a Brac, clothing, small pieces of furniture toys etc. If you have something that you have no further use for but feel it would suit someone else please donate. Our opening hours are 10am to 1pm, 2pm to 4pmTuesday to Friday and 10am to 2pm Saturday. Thank you. Aughrim Tidy Towns.
Monday Coffee Mornings have recommended. If you are interested in joining our group why not come along some Monday morning for a chat and a cuppa – a great way to start the week! Art classes – part funded by Wicklow VEC – have commenced on Wednesdays at 10.30am in the Pavilion. Aqua Aerobics continue on Thursdays at the Coral Leisure Centre in Arklow – meet to car share at Lawless’ at 10.20am – 4 Euro per session. Tuesday, October 27th will see us back at Brooklodge for pampering and lunch. The €60 fee should be given in an envelope to Kay at the October meeting. At our November meeting we will have an introduction to Mindfulness with Fiona O’Donnell. Also in November Avondale Community College will have ‘Log on and Learn’ technology, one-to-one classes, conducted by their Transition Year Students – watch for details. The committee would like to thank everyone who made the Positive Ageing afternoon tea dance in the Pavilion such a great success. A great afternoon was had by all.
Aughrim First Responders are holding a training weekend for new members on October 24th & 25th – any Club member who wishes to become a First Responder and/or wishes to learn about the use of the new defibrillator situated on the Credit Union wall (Market Square) can do so by contacting Sharon Keogh 087 1255623 or Dolly Lee 086 3843194 for any further information or questions. There is also training given in The Community Field on the first Thursday of every month.

The numbers: 13, 16, 21 and 24 were drawn in the Sports club lotto on Monday September October 5th. There was only one match three, Brian Byrne, Glenmalure. The jackpot is €4950.
