Carnew Musical Society – Me and My Girl

Carnew Musical Society’s production of Me & My Girl opens in St. Brigid’s Hall Carnew on Monday the 23rd of November. Booking for the show opens to the public on Monday next.

Me & My Girl is a fantastic musical with music by Noel Gay and revised book by Stephen Fry. The musical is set in the late 1930s and tells the story of an unapologetically unrefined cockney gentleman Bill Snibson played by Bill Stafford who learns that he is the 14th Earl of Hareford. Bill’s cockney girlfriend Sally will be played by Ellie Willoughby and the action is set in Hampshire, Mayfair, and Lambeth.

On Sunday Nov 15 the walk will be at Sliabh Bhui, Askamore (Grade B, 12km, 3 hours) meeting in Tinahely at 10.00 or Askamore church car park at 10.30.

On Sunday Nov 22 the walk will be at Askinagap (Grade B, 12km, 3 hours) meeting in Tinahely at 10.30.

Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear.



The annual November Fair will take place in Carnew Community Care on this Friday 13th November at 7pm with all the usual stalls, all welcome.



The knitting/crochet of hats, mitts, bootees and blankets 24 x 34 for Crumlin Hospital will be collected on 25th November in Carnew Community Care, many thanks to all who are supporting this event, it is very much appreciated.



Winners of the Pride in Carnew lotto 14th October Sandra Molloy seller Mary Hall, 21st Pat Doran seller Dermot Kenny, 28th no winner. Some places are still available at €2 a week from Carnew Development Centre.



Carnew Day Centre flower arranging Christmas Bells with Frances, Betty and Paula will take place on Wednesday 25th November at 7.30pm with raffle of arrangements and door prize on the night, admission €7, all welcome to come along, proceeds to Carnew Day Centre and St Vincent de Paul.

The committee would like to say a sincere thank you to everyone who supported and attended their annual get together recently, to John Flood for the music, and to all who sold and bought tickets and all who sponsored prizes, it was greatly appreciated. A great night was had by all.

Carnew ladies football club are holding their AGM on this Friday 13th November at 8pm in The Lodge, all welcome to attend.
The next bingo will be held on Sunday 15th November at 2.30pm in Colasite Bhride, Carnew, all welcome to come along, proceeds towards the hall refurbishment, your support is greatly appreciated.
