Photographer praises Gardai as stolen camera gear is recovered

Bray photographer Shayne Phelan has heaped praise on the Gardai after they recovered his camera gear which was stolen form his vehicle on Sidmonton road in Bray last August.

On Sunday morning two gardai were carrying out a routine check of Bray when they noticed two men acting suspicious on Novara road.

The gardai followed the two men and watched one of them climb a tree where they took down a black plastic refuse bag.

The Gardai chased the men who dropped the bag during the pursuit.

It turned out to be the camera gear which has now been returned. The bag contained a Canon 1DX body, a Canon 1D MK3, a 70-200 Canon Lens and a 28-300 Canon lens.

Shayne told Wicklownews.net “I cannot believe it, the bag had not even been opened everything was still in its place untouched, I can’t thank the Gardai enough.”
