Active Retirement

A big thank you to the staff of Lawless’ Hotel for making our Christmas party on Friday, December 4th such an enjoyable and happy event. All who attended had a great night. Thank you, too, to Pat Kennedy for the lovely hamper for a raffle at the event. Congratulations to Mairin who was the lucky winner!  On Tuesday, January 5th we will have a talk on 1916 at our meeting, as this is such an interesting topic the meeting on this occasion only, will be open to non members.  There will be no more Monday Coffee mornings until 2016 – date for recommencement will be announced at January meeting

Athletics Training

Athletics continue every Monday evening at 7pm. The evenings are getting cold so wrap up well and bring your water.

Saturday 19th. December a very short penitential Service will be held after the 8.00.p.m. Mass.
There will be no Confessions Christmas Eve Thursday 24th. December (Christmas Eve)
Vigil Mass 8.00.p.m.  Friday 25th. December (Christmas Day)  Mass at 10.30.a.m.
Saturday 26th. December (St. Stephen’s Day) Vigil Mass 8.00.p.m. Sunday 27th. December

Please note that the rescheduled A.G.M. of Aughrim G.A.A. Club has been fixed for this Thursday night 10th December at 8.00p.m.  All members, new members, ex members, players, coaches, parents and anyone interested are all invited to this important meeting to ensure the continued success of the Club.  The sympathy of the Club is extended to the Kelly family on their recent bereavement.  The Club would like to congratulate the Derry Gaels minor football team on their fine win over Rathnew in the minor ‘C’ football final recently.  Finally we would encourage all involved in the Club to support the Aughrim Sports Club weekly lotto draw which benefits not only Aughrim G.A.A. but also the Aughrim Camogie Club and Aughrim Soccer Club equally.  The upkeep and running of the local Community Sports Complex and playing pitches rely on this funding also.

St. Stephen’s Day Fishing Competition
There will be a fishing competition at the NDAF “Fishing for All” Angling Facility, Rednagh Road, Aughrim on Bank Holiday Monday December 28th from 12 – 3pm. Prizes – Plaques and Fishing Vouchers for heaviest Senior catch of the day and Junior catch of the day. Entry fee included in admission ticket. The numbers: were: 13, 15, 17 and 25 drawn in the Sports club lotto on Monday November 30th. There was no match three winner or jackpot winner. The jackpot is €5250.
