TINAHELY WALKING CLUB
On Sunday Dec 27 the walk will be at Ballycumber (Grade B, 12km 3 hours) meeting in Tinahely at 10.30.
Everybody is welcome to walk with us on Sunday Jan 3 where the walk will include part of the Railway walk and Mangan’s Loop (Grade C, 10km 2.5 hours) meeting in Tinahely at 11.00. Happy New Year.
Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear.

There is a bingo on Sunday 27th December at 3pm in St Brigid’s Hall, Carnew in aid of Tomas and Aishling Strictly Club Dancing, great prizes on the day.
SCOIL AODAN NAOFA
Last week children from Scoil Aodan Naofa travelled to The Gaiety Theatre in Dublin to see the pantomime Little Red Riding Hood, it was a wonderful experience which they thoroughly enjoyed and will remember forever.
High School Musical performed by Colaiste Bhride was attended and enjoyed by children from 1st, 5th and 6th class.
Junior and senior infants paid a visit to Wexford Opera House where they helped Rudey find Santa’s Sleigh. Thankfully all’s well that ends well, the sleigh was found and is ready for its busy journey on Christmas eve.
Well done to all the boys and girls who performed and sang so beautifully in their recent carol service. They certainly captured the true meaning of Christmas.
6th class children visited Community Care this week where they entertained the residents with their music and carols. A great time was had by all – lots of goodies and Christmas cheer.
Keep an eye out on Christmas Eve for three of our pupils Tara Doran, Laoise Doran and Molly Wilkinson who are performing with The Aspiro Choir on RTE 1 AT 6.30, well done girls.
SPLIT THE POT
Congratulations to the first winner of Split the Pot Anthony Gilligan who won €230, the second week was won by Thomas Kennedy c/o Deegan’s Butchers who won €375, two hampers were kindly donated by the staff were won by Declan Forsyth and Patrick O’Rourke. A hugh thank you to everyone for their tremendous support. Tickets are available from Scoil Aodan Naofa, Correll’s, Victors, Sinnott’s, Classic Cut, Londis, Partners, Kenny’s, Deegan’s Fresh Meats and Shelaines at only €2.

Don’t forget to recycle all your cardboard, newspapers, cans, bottles, hard plastic and small electrical goods at the recycling at Colaiste Bhride Carnew every Saturday from 10am – 11.30am.
Any used stamps are collected at Carnew and Askamore churches, leave a good piece around the stamp and put them into the boxes in the churches, thanks.
The next social dance in Askamore is on New Years day night 1st January at 9pm with music by Unity.
The annual turkey trot will take place in Ballyroebuck at 12 noon, refreshments will be served afterwards in the hall there will be a raffle for a hamper on the day, all proceeds will go towards next years Golden age party.
