Turbulent weather set to continue

By William O’Toole

After most of the country was battered by Storm Desmond yesterday, we are experiencing a much calmer day today, but it won’t last and wet and windy conditions are set to return tonight.

Wicklow Weather has issued a warning for tonight, tomorrow and also for the middle of the week as the turbulent weather continues.

A band of heavy rain is expected to move across the country tonight and another band of heavy rain, coupled by 90 kmh winds is likely for most of Leinster tomorrow.

And it gets worse… Wednesday is set to be a particularly wild day with the potential for some damaging gusts in exposed areas.

Winds are set to die down by the end of the week but they could be replaced by a cold snap with the risk of wintry showers by next weekend.

Keep an eye on the Wicklow Weather Facebook page for all the latest developments on the weather front.
