Caution on roads as frost sets in

Snowy conditions in parts of the Wicklow Mountains.

Watch out for possible frost and ice on some routes this evening and overnight.

Drive with extra care and remember that stopping distances are ten times longer in ice and snow.

Flooding remains a problem on a number of routes; with many national and regional roads still affected.

If you encounter flooding on your route, don’t attempt to drive through it if you can’t tell how deep it is. If you have to drive through standing water make sure you drive slowly, use a low gear and keep the revs high. Road users are advised to adhere to road signage and follow the advice of local authorities.

Severe black ice reported on the Delgany Priory and the Hacketstown to Knockananna road.
