Councillor John Snell is warning home owners to be cautious after a number of attempted break-ins in Rathnew on Monday evening.
Two houses were targeted in the village, one at the Merrymeeting.
The perpetrators were chased through gardens and fields but managed to escape.
Councillor Snell said “Gardai are following up on a number of break -ins around Wicklow Town and Rathnew.
Most incidents happen around 6pm to 8.30pm in the evening time, teenagers are being drove to areas to target houses in darkness.
After tonight if you see anyone in your area who has no reason to be around contact the Gardai.”
