Four people arrested in Gorey in connection with investigation into false imprisonment, blackmail and criminal damage

Gardai in Wexford have arrested four people this morning in connection with investigations into false imprisonment, blackmail and criminal damage that occurred near Gorey between January 25th and Febuary 3rd of this year.

Two men aged 25 and 33, and two women, aged 31 and 48, were arrested this morning in Gorey and Enniscorty in relation to the alleged incident.

Three of them are being detained at Wexford and Enniscorty Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939-’98 as amended.

The 48 year old woman was taken to Gorey Garda Station but it is understood that she has since been released without charge.

Gardai are continuing to question the other three and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
