Mountain rescue aid biker with broken leg

Callout 9 – 13th March 2016 – Djouce Wood

Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and Glen of Imaal Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team were tasked at approximately 11:00hrs on March 13th 2016 to come to the assistance of a mountain biker in Djouce Wood.

The unfortunate biker broke his leg and dislocated his shoulder when he fell from his bike. The biker was treated for his injuries and given pain relief by advanced paramedics from the HSE National Ambulance Service and a doctor from Wicklow Rapid Response. He was then packaged in a stretcher and transported to a waiting ambulance. The incident was stood down at 12:00hrs.

The incident rounded off a busy weekend for DWMRT with two callouts and our Walk the Line fundraising event. Mountain rescue would like to thank all agencies involved including HSE National Ambulance Service and Wicklow Rapid Response.
