Hard luck to the county minors who were defeated by Kildare on Saturday heads up lads for next outing.  Our senior team had no match at the weekend and are down to play Stratford  next Sunday at home ,see fixtures for time.  On the juvenile  front our U8’s and U10 ‘s played in the first  blitz of the year in Arklow and all acquitted themselves  brilliantly with both winning all their respective games.  The  U12 Camogie blitz was held in Aughrim on Friday  evening  and was great success with Aughrim  coming out on the right side of results against  strong opposition from Avondale  and Annacurra.

Aughrim Juvenile Notes
The U8 & U10 footballers finally go their season off the ground at the blitz in Arklow last weekend. The U10’s were a bit rusty in their first game but they played really well in their other 2 games. The U8’s too played really well in what was some kids first ever competitive games. so well done to all and a big thank you to AGB for hosting our squads. Training continues on Tuesday nights. 6.30 to 7.15 for football and 7.15 to 8.00 for hurling. Some membership’s fees are still due in, and it would be great if all parents attended to this as soon as possible. New players  are always welcome Our next blitz is a hurling one on Friday night. Details to follow by text.

It’s a busy few weeks with community games. The local art and handwriting competition has been judged locally and the winners are gone forward to the next round and the county Wicklow finalists will be notified in May. We will have our badminton, girls soccer and tag rugby teams competing over the next few weeks.  Next weekend is the county U 14 quiz in Hollywood on Saturday evening and the county talent competition in Hollywood on Sunday afternoon in Hollywood too. Good luck to all the boys and girls taking part in all competitions locally and at county level. If there are any queries please contact me Fiona Shannon or check out our Facebook page.
