We had two teams who played two games each and all combined we had four good wins.  Not only good attacking but great defence to keep the scores against few and far between. Team Jellyfish (don’t ask) had great points from Ella & Cara but Emily & Tara were great in midfield picking up every loose ball. While on Team Cobra Katie played a stormer backed up ably by Niamh Clancy and Erica but 18 very good team performances over all.

U14 Wicklow hurling league

Bray Emmets vs North District

The u-14s began their Wicklow campaign on Wednesday night 13/04/’16 in Éire Óg with a fine win V’s North District.

On a good evening for Hurling, on a fast pitch, Emmets settled well and put in an energetic and determined display and established an early dominance on the score board that they didn’t relinquish.

First half goals from Brian and Peter, some good point taking by Cian, Brian, and Gavin; and excellent defensive work by Ben in goal and Aaron, Luan, Jamie, Zak, Adam, Philip and Andrew at the back, saw the teams reach half time on a score of Bray 3-3 to North District 0-3.

Cathal, Peter and Jack did great work at midfield throughout and had their work cut out to contain a lively North District unit. They supplied very good ball into the forwards;  Brian, Oscar, Cian and Gavin  were very lively, and great battling work by Rian, Daniel F and Daniel M, saw them unlucky not to get their names on the scoresheet. North District did force their way back into the game, scoring 2-5 as Emmets tired but the Emmets work ethic was rewarded, Brian and Oscar added further goals and Brian and Cian added further points to see out the game on a scoreline of Bray Emmets 5-5    North District 2-8.

Team: Ben, Luan, Jamie, Zak, Adam, Philip, Zak, Peter, Cathal, Jack, Brian, Gavin, Cian, Oscar, Rian, Daniel F and Daniel M
