Wicklow Enterprise Park has launched the search for Wicklow’s Brightest Start-up – a major business award with a €10,000 prize package.
The award is one of a host of initiatives that will take place this year to mark the 21 year anniversary of Wicklow Enterprise Park supporting and growing business in Co. Wicklow.
Over the past 21 years, Wicklow Enterprise Park has supported new and expanding businesses, providing affordable office space, access to mentoring, financial and marketing advice, and a myriad of other services to foster success and growth among start-ups in the county.
This anniversary year, the centre wants to celebrate the important role of start-ups in County Wicklow hear and share their success stories so as to inspire others through this major award.
The overall winner of the spectacular prize will receive a cheque for €5,000 from Wicklow Enterprise Park as well as a bumper €5,000 advertising package with East Coast FM.
The competition is open to any individual or group, who have started an independent new business from scratch and is still in operation in Co. Wicklow (business start date no earlier than January 1st 2010).
An expert panel of judges will select ten finalists, each of whom will then be given the chance to pitch their success story through a business interview on East Coast FM’s Wicklow This Week show.
The judges will then select one overall winner, who will be announced at the 21st year anniversary ceremony at Wicklow Enterprise Park. All finalists will receive a special certificate and will be included in associated press communications.
Chairman of Wicklow Enterprise Board, Mr. Blaise Treacy says judges will be looking for inspirational start-ups, who represent outstanding commitment to making their small business succeed.
“Small and medium enterprises are the lifeblood of the Irish economy, accounting for over 99% of active enterprises in this country. At Wicklow Enterprise Park, we recognise the daunting nature of starting a new business from scratch and the endless challenges that must be overcome to make your small business a success.”
“We look forward to hearing the stories of the many small and medium enterprises in Co. Wicklow over the coming weeks.”
