Wicklow County Council is continuing its delivery of housing units through the Council’s Acquisition Programme after purchasing and allocating a further four houses in Woodleigh Park, Blessington.
The Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, Cllr John Ryan, welcomed the new tenants today (Thurs) and said: “Not only are four families housed today, a further three families in need of housing will be allocated the two resulting vacant Council units and one vacant unit under the Rental Accommodation Scheme. I wish to congratulate the four families and wish them many happy years in their new homes.”
These sentiments were echoed by the Cathaoirleach of the Housing and Corporate Strategic Policy Committee, Cllr. John Snell, who added: “I must thank the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government for their integral role in providing funding for the Acquisition Programme.”
The Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council, Mr. Bryan Doyle, added his congratulations to the new tenants and said: “Wicklow County Council is making significant progress in delivering on targets under the Housing Strategy, with further units to be delivered in 2016. I would like to pay particular tribute to the Director of Housing, Mr Joe Lane and his staff in their continued provision of efficient and effective housing services.”
