IKEA has recalled a bat cape costume and urged parents to immediately stop their children from playing with the product due to risk of strangulation.
The company says the Lattjo bat cape has been sold in stores since November 2015.
It says it is taking the action after reports about three children that have received marks and scratches on their necks while playing with the capes.
It says the cape got stuck and did not detach easily enough from the children’s necks.
No injuries which required medical treatment have been reported, but due to the risk of strangulation or injuries to the neck, IKEA says it is taking precautionary measures.
The bat cape can be returned to any IKEA store for a full refund.
