Wicklow scoops two Irish building and design awards

Two County Wicklow projects were winners in the 2016 Irish Building & Design Awards.

The award for the Cultural Project of the Year went to Coady Architects for the Arklow Library and Municipal Offices.

The award for the Engineering Project of the Year was won by BAM Ireland for the N11 Arklow/Rathnew /N7 Newlands Cross Flyover.

The awards – intended to recognise and acknowledge the best building and design projects over the past 12 months – were presented at ceremony at the weekend attended by more than 500 people from the world of architecture, engineering, construction and design.

Wicklow County Council congratulates all those involved in both projects.  The Cathaoirleach of the Council, Cllr John Ryan, said:  “These two projects are further examples of the Council’s commitment to delivering a quality service to the residents of Wicklow and represent a considerable financial investment.”
