Arklow Geraldines Ballymoney GAA club notes

AGB offer their sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of Jack Boothman, former GAA President and former Leinster Council Chairman. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam dilis.

AGB U14 Boys played An Tochar mid week, and having been very unlucky in the opening two league games, AGB U14’s finally got the victory they had deserved in those early games. It came against a strong An Tochar team in Ballymoney on a scoreline of 4-14 to 4-5. It was a brilliant showing by every single panel member; the forwards who racked up some brilliant scores; the battling and hard working midfield; the defense which coped superbly with a dangerous An Tochar forward unit and each substitution also played an excellent and vital part.

AGB U16 Girls played Carnew in the league at Pearses Park.  This was a fiercely contested game with both teams working hard right from the throw-in. It was Carnew who got off the mark first scoring a goal and point in quick succession. It was then AGBs turn as the girls worked some great scores to get back into the game. AGB went on to play some great football but it was Carnew who went in leading at the break. Credit has to be given to one of Carnew players who scored three outstanding individual goals in the first half. Some teams may have given up at this stage, but not this group of players. In the second half there was no quarter given by either side with both teams again working tirelessly until the final whistle. It was a great game of football that finished with a victory for the visitors. AGB  1-5 Carnew 5-3.

AGB U12 Girls Division 4,  took on Coolkenno during the week and after a tough game it finished with AGB 4-2 to Coolkenno 2-2, giving the girls four wins in four from the league to date.

Well done to the U8 and U10 girls who travelled to Baltinglass for a Blitz on Saturday morning.  An excellent display of football was on show from all the girls.

Welll done to the  U15 Boys: Ferdia Hunt, Ben Fennell, Michael O Reilly and Elliott Young who played on the Wicklow U15 County Team in a Blitz,  they lost narrowly to Longford and had a good win against Waterford.
