Summer Camp

Come join our Two Exciting Summer Camps not to be missed.  Venue: Aughrim Community Hall: 11th -15th July, Age group: 4-12, Time: 9.30-12 (Art Camp) 12-1 (Activity Camp).  Art in the morning ( Painting/Sculpture/ Tye-Dye T-Shirts/ Art & Science Projects & lots more, with art competition on the last day).  Activity camp in the afternoon (Introduction to Tae-Kwon-Do, circuit training, exercise to music & lots more).  Demonstration on the last day, with medals & certs.  Join us for the Art Camp or Activity camp only or both.  Over 15yrs experience delivering Art Camps to the community & over 20 years Tae-Kwon-Do experience.  For Booking Contact: Trish Murphy (087)6390370 for further information.


Well done to Wicklow U14 camogie team who won their section of the Leinster Blitz on Sunday in Laois and were very well represented by the Aughrim girls

Community Games

Congratulations to all our finalists that have reached the County Wicklow art and handwriting competition.  This will take place in the national school in Dunlavin on Sunday May 29th with Registration for art is 1.45 for a 2pm start and the handwriting 2.45 for 3pm start.  The u11 and u14 tag rugby county final will take place next Thursday May 19thin Donard at 7pm and back in Aughrim the u12 girls soccer will take place e at 7pm too. We wish all teams the best of luck. Athletics is heating up now with Shillelagh County Wicklow track and field finals taking place on Saturday June 11th. Please try and come to every training session as we need to practice the relays and starts with all qualified children so so be there every Monday at 7pm

Run The Rock

Registration for ‘Run The Rock 11K Challenge’(4th year) takes place on Saturday  June 4th at 11.00am and is now open for registration on .  This fundraising event is organised by Aughrim GAA Club committee and has become a very popular local event.  This trail run starts and finishes at the Brooklodge Hotel and is open to both runners and walkers.  The first 3K is a formidable climb to the top of Cushbawn mountain. From here on its downhill to lap the Sean Linehan Walk and then back up to the Brooklodge  Hotel,  finish line for well earned refreshments.  There is also a shorter 3.5K loop to cater for families and kids.  Entry: Individual €20 online, Team of four €60 online, Individual On the day €25.   Family 3.5k €10  For any further information contact any member of Aughrim GAA Club committee.

Active Retirement

Bus to Delta Centre on Tuesday May 24th will leave Lawless’ Hotel at 10.30am. We will have soup and sandwiches there at 1pm after which we will go to Duckett’s Grove where we will have a guided tour followed by tea/scones before we head back home. The bus will cost €15 per person. Don’t forget our Dawn Chorus on Sunday, May 29th at the Pavilion at 8am followed by breakfast.

Benefit Night

There will be a benefit night in aid of local family in Lawless’ Hotel on June 10th.  A monster raffle will be held with numerous prizes. For a great night and a great cause come and see our lovely “Divas” crowned.  The floozy in the granite. GAA Note

The club sends sympathy to the Boothman ,Pender and Byrne families on their recent bereavements. We wish our club secretary Denis a speedy return to full health from all club members.  Reminder that the county draw tickets are now on sale so contact any of the committee if you need one.  Run the Rock takes place again this year on June 4th  all welcome to participate

New to You Charity Shop

Helping towards the upkeep of the Pavilion, Fishing Park and village of Aughrim.   We are appealing for donations of saleable goods – bric a Brac, clothing, small pieces of furniture toys etc.  If you have something that you have no further use for but feel it would suit someone else please donate.  Our opening hours are 10 – 1pm, 2pm – 4pm Tuesday to Friday and 10am to 2pm Saturday.


The numbers: 13, 16, 20 and 27 were drawn in the Sports club lotto on Monday May 9th.  There was no jackpot or match three winners.   The jackpot is €8550.


Summer has definitely arrived and there was a great buzz at the Aughrim Town & Country Market last Saturday. Join us on Saturday mornings from 10am – 2pm at the Pavilion on Rednagh Rd. Enjoy a chat with friends in The Coffee Dock Cafe and take in the beautiful scenery around the lake.
