Summer Camp

Come join our Two Exciting Summer Camps not to be missed.  Venue: Aughrim Community Hall: 11th -15th July, Age group: 4-12, Time: 9.30-12 (Art Camp) 12-1 (Activity Camp).  Art in the morning ( Painting/Sculpture/ Tye-Dye T-Shirts/ Art & Science Projects & lots more, with art competition on the last day).  Activity camp in the afternoon (Introduction to Tae-Kwon-Do, circuit training, exercise to music & lots more).  Demonstration on the last day, with medals & certs.  Join us for the Art Camp or Activity camp only or both.  Over 15yrs experience delivering Art Camps to the community & over 20 years Tae-Kwon-Do experience.  For Booking Contact: Trish Murphy (087)6390370 for further information.

Community Games

An evening of mixed results but everyone is a winner at the end of the day. Our U 11 Tag Rugby came second after playing extra time against Westside. Well done to you all.  Our U 14 Tag Rugby are the County Wicklow finalists and now go into Leinster to play their next match against either Kildare or Dublin. Well done to all the supporters’ parents and children who travelled to Donard. A very big thank you to our coach Barney Hynes. Hard luck to our U12 girls soccer team who lost to Lakeside in the County Wicklow Final in Aughrim last Thursday. They put in a fantastic performance but it just wasn’t meant to be! Thank you to Oisin Jordan for coaching and co-co-ordinating the game. Next Sunday the County Wicklow Art and Handwriting competition takes place in Dunlavin from 2pm. Good luck to all our finalists and enjoy the experience.  Our athletics it continuing every Monday to prepare for Shillelagh at 7pm. Please attend to practice baton relay training as well as your individual races.

Run The Rock

Registration for ‘Run The Rock 11K Challenge’(4th year) takes place on Saturday  June 4th at 11.00am and is now open for registration on .  This fundraising event is organised by Aughrim GAA Club committee and has become a very popular local event.  This trail run starts and finishes at the Brooklodge Hotel and is open to both runners and walkers.  The first 3K is a formidable climb to the top of Cushbawn mountain. From here on its downhill to lap the Sean Linehan Walk and then back up to the Brooklodge  Hotel,  finish line for well earned refreshments.  There is also a shorter 3.5K loop to cater for families and kids.  Entry: Individual €20 online, Team of four €60 online, Individual On the day €25.   Family 3.5k €10  For any further information contact any member of Aughrim GAA Club committee.

Dawn Chorus

Dawn Chorus will take place on Sunday next May 29th at the Pavilion Aughrim at 8am followed by breakfast. We would be delighted to see all our friends there singing along. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 7th at 10.00am.

Benefit Night
There will be a benefit night in aid of local family in Lawless’ Hotel on June 10th.  A monster raffle will be held with numerous prizes. For a great night and a great cause come and see our lovely “Divas” crowned.  The floozy in the granite. GAA Note

The club sends sympathy to the Boothman ,Pender and Byrne families on their recent bereavements. We wish our club secretary Denis a speedy return to full health from all club members.  Reminder that the county draw tickets are now on sale so contact any of the committee if you need one.  Run the Rock takes place again this year on June 4th  all welcome to participate

New to You Charity Shop

Helping towards the upkeep of the Pavilion, Fishing Park and village of Aughrim.   We are appealing for donations of saleable goods – bric a Brac, clothing, small pieces of furniture toys etc.  If you have something that you have no further use for but feel it would suit someone else please donate.  Our opening hours are 10 – 1pm, 2pm – 4pm Tuesday to Friday and 10am to 2pm Saturday.


The numbers: 12, 13, 14 and 16 were drawn in the Sports club lotto on Monday May 16th.  Match three winners were: Tina Byrne and Sheila Driver   The jackpot is €8700.

Summer has definitely arrived and there was a great buzz at the Aughrim Town & Country Market last Saturday. Join us on Saturday mornings from 10am – 2pm at the Pavilion on Rednagh Rd. Enjoy a chat with friends in The Coffee Dock Cafe and take in the beautiful scenery around the lake.
