Body found in search for missing swimmer at Blessington Lakes

The body of a man has been recovered from the Blessington Lakes following a search operation.

The alarm was raised after the man aged in his 30’s from Templeogue, Co.Dublin failed to return to his family after going for a swim near Lacken.

The man’s body was discovered on Tuesday afternoon.

The search involved the Gardai, the Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue, the Glen of Immal Mountain Rescue, Blessington Water Rescue, and the ESB.

His body was taken from the waters and removed to Naas hospital where a post-mortem is due to take place today (Wednesday).
