St. Patrick’s Club notes – 23rd May 2016

Congratulations to our Senior Players Clodagh Fox who made it onto the NFL Division 4 Team of the Year and Dean Healy on been selected on the Leinster GAA Team of the Week! You’ve made the Club and County proud! 

Both of our Senior Football teams picked up wins this weekend. The Senior Men faced Coolkenno on Saturday where they won 1-12 to 2-08, and our Senior Ladies had a home game against Blessington where they had a strong win, 3-17 to 1-02. Well done to both teams!

Our Senior Hurlers visited Glenealy and came away with a well-earned victory on a score line of St Patricks 2-14 Glenealy 0-09. Our U14 Girls Féile team gathered another great win on Thursday evening. They faced Bray in Dunbur winning 2-12 to 2-03. Keep up the hard work girls!

Well done to the U13 Boys; Mark Evans, Ryan Kavanagh, Finn Egan Baron, Bill O’Brien, Mark O’Brien and Cathal O’Briain, who headed to Ballinakill for the U13 County Development Squad on Sunday.

Our U10 girls played their second blitz of the season in sunny Ashford last Saturday. The Pats girls had a great turnout with 16 girls in attendance: Aideen, Aine, Aislinn, Ailbhe, Alannah, Amy, Ava, Caitlin, Grace, Grainne, Hannah, Isabelle, Marie, Maedbh, Niamh & Orla. The girls played two 30 minutes matches against Bray Emmets & hosts Ashford. The girls were split in to 2 even teams and played a half against both opposition. The girls played some great football on the day and the work being put in at training on Saturdays @ 11am is paying off on the pitch. Well done to all the girls involved. Thanks to the coaches, parents & supporters on the day.

After doing very well at last Friday’s Go Games in Greystones, our U8 Hurlers were back to the training field on Tuesday evening at St. Pats NS. Winners of our coveted Players of the Week awards were U8 Conor Coffey and U7 Tiernan Shorthall! Training takes place every Tuesday at 6.45pm, with new players welcome.

Thank you to Tesco Wicklow for facilitating our St Patricks GAA Club bag pack this week end. We were packing on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Thanks to everyone who helped out and supported over the 4 days. It was very much appreciated.

The Club are organising a fundraising collection of recycled clothing with Liberty Recycling in aid of our two U14 Féile teams. We will receive €4 for every 8kg bag of recycled clothing received. Green plastic bags are available from the clubhouse. They can contain clean clothes, towels, blankets, curtains, bed linen, shoes, bags, hats and handbags, and extra plastic bags can be used if you have extra. The collection day will be the 18th June at the clubhouse, so get collecting!

The Mystic Celt on Church Street will host a Coffee Morning and Bake Sale on the bank holiday weekend Saturday June 4th 10am until 12:30 for St. Patrick’s Boys & Girls Feile. Please support

There’s a week left to go to purchase a ticket in the Wicklow Club County Development Draw. Approximately 75% of funds raised by our ticket sales remain with our Club. This has been one of our club’s major fundraiser over the past number of years. If we are to achieve our goals as outlined in our club development plan specifically additional playing fields we need to be very successful with all of our future fundraising  – your support would be greatly appreciated.

There was no winner of this week’s Lotto Jackpot of €4,200. Numbers drawn were 3, 15, 16 and 20. The bonus number was 8. Colm Finnegan drew 3 numbers securing him the €250 prize. Thanks to everyone who supports the draw each week.
