St. Patrick’s Club notes week May 5th


It was a great week for the Club in regard to matches with all of our Adult teams picking up great wins.

The Senior Men had a home game in Dunbur against Éire Óg on Sunday. They were ahead by a single point at the half, 1-4 to 6 points, but managed a 4 point win at full time, 1-10 to 0-09.

Our Senior Ladies travelled to Bray Emmets on Sunday Morning. Our Ladies were on top form lining out with a strong team and went in 1-09 to 0-01 at half time. Another strong half allowed the girls to remain on top winning 4-12 to 0-04. Well done Ladies.

We welcomed Carnew to Dunbur in Group 1 of the Senior Hurling League on Saturday evening. This was an intriguing contest with our own Casey O’Brien now managing Carnew. With great support in Dunbur the game finished 1-11 to 0-09 in favour of the Pat’s Lads.

The Junior Hurlers had a massive win on Wednesday night when they faced Éire Óg in Dunbur, another home game for the club. They came out worthy winners; 5-20 to 0-04.

Our Junior Ladies were out on Monday evening in Newtown in freezing conditions. Regardless of the cold, the girls put in a brilliant performance and came out winners scoring 3-16 to Newtown’s 1-03. On Monday evening, the U12’s boys made the journey West in the U12 Football Group 1 Mini League: Round 3 and recorded a good win over Donard/Glen.


Our U16 Hurlers also had a big win over Luke O’Tooles in Dunbur on a score line of 5-16 to 1-6.

Well done to the Wicklow U14 girls who won the Leinster Shield on Sunday after overcoming Carlow by 1-12 to 0-05. Four of our own U14s are part of the panel; Jess Lyons, Niamh Caffrey, Zoe Armstrong and Naoise O’Reilly.

Our U14 Féile Ladies team will be hosted by Nemo Rangers of Cork in Group A of the Division 1 Féile. They’re looking strong after a fine win against Bray on Tuesday night; 4-18 to 1-01.

Our U14 boys are being hosted by Reenard GAA Club, Cahersiveen, Co. Kerry. The fun now begins in preparation for the organising and funding of our trips and any help with fundraising and sponsorship would be greatly appreciated.

The U8 Hurlers had a great evening for training on Tuesday in St. Pats NS. The well deserved Players of the Week went to U8 Morgan Durston and U7 Tommy Morrissey. Well done boys and keep up the hard work! Training takes place every Tuesday evening at 6.45pm with new players welcome.


Our County Senior Football manager is requesting your support for the Leinster Senior Football Championship Wicklow v Laois on Saturday 14th May at 7pm in O Moore Park Portlaoise.


Wicklow County Senior Football players will visit Dunbur on Saturday morning 7th May at 11am and will be involved with the training session of Our Little Warriors Nursery along with the club coaches. They will coordinate with the coaches to do drills, games, sign autographs, pictures etc. with all the kids.

Wheelchair Tickets: – The Wheelchair Tickets is free of charge and the Assistant’s ticket is €25

Groups Passes are provided for groups of Juveniles U-16 €5 each (Stand) & €3 each (Terrace) (you are permitted to bring 1 adult free with every ten Juveniles) any additional adults pay full price for their tickets.

There was no winner of this week’s Club Lotto Jackpot of €3,750. Numbers drawn were 1, 8, 9 and 24. The bonus number was 18. Three people managed to draw 3 numbers sharing the prize of €250; Veronica Flaherty, Charlie Gavin and Jennifer Byrne. Thanks to those who continue to support each week.
