33-year-old man to appear in court in relation to early morning fatal collision

A 33-year-old man is to appear before a special sitting of Bray District Court at 2 pm today in relation with the road traffic incident at Annamoe this morning.

The man is being charged with drunk driving after a 13-year-old boy was killed after the car they were travelling with hit a ditch.

The incident happened at 6.40 this morning between Annamoe and Roundwood.

The two men staggered onto the road and a passer-by stopped and offered help.

Unfortunately the teen died on his way to hospital.

The road has since reopened.

Gardai have appealed to anyone who travelled this road prior to 6.40am this morning in either direction and who may have seen the collision or observed or passed the two males walking the road to contact the Gardai at Wicklow on 0404 – 6014
