The Board of Wicklow County Tourism officially launched the new #WakeUpInWicklow campaign at Kilruddery House & Gardens on Monday the 11th of July, with the support from Wicklow residents Minister for Health, Simon Harris, TD and Minister of State for Food, Forestry and Horticulture, Andrew Doyle, TD.
The #WakeUpInWicklow has for objective to invite visitors to stay for one, two, or more nights in order to enjoy all that our beautiful County has to offer.
Commenting at the launch, Noel Keyes, Chairman of Wicklow Tourism said: “We are very pleased to activate our new tourism initiative which will showcase the complete county of Wicklow like never before. Tourism trends dictate that visitors are planning their trips by researching in advance online and on social media. We want them to experience Wicklow’s famous hospitality and engage with trade before they’ve even arrived.”
Minister Harris added: “This campaign is all about building relationships and I am encouraging everyone to get involved and support it. Wicklow is renowned for its magnificent outdoors, heritage and lifestyle. As Greystones resident and Minister for this area I anticipate that tourists will be charmed to #WakeUpInWicklow and experience all it has to offer.”
Also present at the launch was Minister Doyle who commented: “I welcome the launch of this ambitious campaign. Tourism is very important for the county of Wicklow and encouraging more overnight stays can only be a good thing. “
