On their annual week long summer Petersburg Activity Centre, in Clonbur, Co. Galway, Arklow Harbour Troop Sea Scouts under the leadership of Conor Byrne, Melissa Byrne and David Doyle decided to hike Crough Patrick in the County of Mayo.
At base of the mountain 5 scouts and 1 leader decided to hike the mountain in their bare feet.

The whole troop consisting of 23 sea scouts successfully made the difficult round trip hike in 4 hours. Other activities during the week included Rowing, Canoeing, Gorge Walking, Caving, Camping, Camp fire Cooking, Bivvying and Hiking.
