Fine Gael TD, for Wicklow, Andrew Doyle, has said that a €68,500 capital grant for Bray Youth Service, Connect Bray Neighbourhood Youth Project and Wicklow Travellers will benefit young people in Wicklow.

“The Minister for Children and Youth Affairs has announced capital grants for 86 youth projects and organisations around the country and I am delighted that three organisations in Wicklow will receive €68,500 in funding. This capital grant will really boost the services of Bray Youth Service, Connect Bray Neighbourhood Youth Project and Wicklow Travellers and so will be of great benefit to young people in Wicklow.

Bray Youth services will receive a grant of €6,931 to upgrade its premised and purchase IT equipment, Connect Bray will receive €13,629 to purchase IT equipment and Wicklow Travellers project will receive €48,090 to refurbish premises.

“Youth projects and organisations such as Bray Youth Service, Connect Bray Neighbourhood Youth Project and Wicklow Travellers play a crucial role in supporting young people throughout the country. It is hugely important that the Government continues to acknowledge their work and provide funding so that they can maintain and in some cases expand their services.

“We are working hard in Government to ensure that our recovering economy is used in the right way. This means making sure that everyone benefits, particularly vulnerable people or those who need extra support.”
