With the last of the workers finishing up at MSD soon, many of them will be seeking to find employment in other areas.
One Rathdrum man who worked at the plant for over 20 years has already started up his own business after finishing up at the plant.
Tony Hagan, who worked at MSD for 21 years, launched his own courier service two weeks ago.
Speaking to wicklownews.net this morning, Tony said : “I realised that the nearest courier services was in Wicklow and being a Rathdrum native I thought it would be great to start business of my own based in Rathdrum.
“Hopefully I will be able to provide a great local and national service.”
Hagan Courier is a fully insured and certified company that offers a wide range of services at competitive rates, and will operate nationwide.
Some of the services offered include : Pallet Collection and Delivery, Collection/Delivery of Building Materials, House Removal and Collection, Office Relocation, Student Relocation, and collection from IKEA, Smyths and other similar stores.
