Greystones mobile park residents of more than 25 years served with notice to quit

Residents of a mobile home park in Greystones some of whom have been living there for more than 25 years have been served with a notice to quit by the owner of the site.

Fairfield Park, which is located behind the former Ormonde Cinema off New road, has been in operation since 1973 and provides rented accommodation to low income families and elderly people.

Its owner Haven Homes says the decision to close the business on the 31st of August next year is made with “great sadness” but can “no longer be postponed”.

In a letter to residents notifying them that Fairfield park will close, the director of Haven homes said the decision was primarily down to increasing changes in legislation governing landlords’ obligations to their tenants.
