Ballymore Eustace to welcome Pieta House
At the Band hall on Wednesday, 12 October, 7.30pm – UPDATED POST

Both BME and Hollywood have witnessed the loss of many loved ones throughout the years to suicide. Each of these losses has had a huge impact on families and friends within our parish with many are still struggling to come to terms with their heartbreak. To support the community, Pieta House will come to Ballymore Eustace for an Information Evening on Wednesday, 12th October at the Band Hall, commencing at 7.30pm.

Pieta House are over ten years in existence and have grown considerably since their inception. They have helped over 20,000 people through their work and counselling, assisting people suffering from suicidal ideation and self-harm. They also help many families who are sadly bereaved through suicide.

“Thanks everyone for the positive response to our upcoming event with Pieta House” said Henry on behalf of fellow organisers Christy and Adrienne.
“We hope as many as possible can avail of this opportunity. There is no charge and no tickets required. There will be three guest speakers on the night. The first will provide an introduction to Pieta House and also talk on the need for communities to work together. The second speaker will discuss promoting resilience and protective factors that helps us to overcome suicidal ideation. The third speaker, a bereavement therapist, will talk to us on how we can cope with loss. There will then be a Q&A session and we hope that everyone can stay afterwards for some light refreshments”.

If this night is a success, they hope to have a similar night in the future for the younger members of our community. Over 16’s only.
Posted on behalf of Christopher Browne, Adrienne Murphy and Henry Murphy. Please share and encourage others to come.
