Taekwon Do Classes

Why not try a new challenge & a new skill -Taekwon Do classes for Men, Women , Children & families every Wednesday 6.15pm  (4yrs- 7yrs )7pm Seniors (begginners & coloured belts)& Friday  7pm. Anniversary Mass

Mass will be celebrated on Saturday evening 17th September at 8pm in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Aughrim in memory of Fr. Edward Barry Co. P.P. on the occasion of the first anniversary of his death.


The numbers: 2, 6, 13 and 15 were drawn in the Sports club lotto on Monday September 5th.  The jackpot was not won.  Match three winners were: Ann Alexander and Mary Kavanagh.  The jackpot is €3000.

Active Retirement

It was great to have such a good attendance at our first meeting in ‘The Sports Complex,’ members were very pleased with the new venue. The guest speaker Milliner, Linda Fleming was welcomed by Chairperson  Margaret Brady. The members enjoyed an inspiring talk and demonstration on hat making given by Linda.  Tickets for Fiddler on the Roof have been booked and these should be paid for by  September 14th. Money may be dropped into either Margaret Brady or Anne Thornton. Travel arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Anne Devlin CCE
Music lessons at Anne Devlin CCE are back in full swing! Congratulations to all our branch members who took part at the Leinster and all Ireland fleadhs over the summer. You did the branch and county proud.  The branch will be celebrating Culture Night 2016 this Friday September 16th with a session in the Old School starting at 7.30pm. All students will be performing. Family & friends are welcome to attend this free night. Lessons for beginners only at 7.15pm as normal.


Enjoy a trip to the Aughrim Town & Country Market from 10am – 2pm every Saturday at The Pavilion on Rednagh Road.  Share a coffee and chat with friends in the ‘Coffee Dock Cafe’ or sit outside in the August sunshine and enjoy the beautiful scenery.  There is a great selection of local produce to be had, including; fresh meat and vegetables, farm fresh eggs, freshly baked bread and cakes and homemade seasonal jams and chutneys.  You will also find lovely gift ideas from the craft stalls and very nice hand-crafted jewellery.
