Baltinglass & District County Market – would like to thank everyone who supported their ‘Drink T’ for MND on June 25th. They raised a total of €1080. The Country Market is open every Saturday from 10am – 1pm in Baltinglass.

A Sponsored Climb – will take place at Lugnaquilla on Sunday the 25th of September 2016. This is the 6th year this event is taking place and it is in aid of the Kildare Branch of Down Syndrome which also provides services for West Wicklow. Jonathan Swift School – John Lonergan will visit the school on Thursday 29th Sept at 8pm to give a talk on Parenting – the challenges and the rewards.

Autumn Gala Concert 2016 – in aid of the John White Organ Fund, will be held on Saturday, Sept 24th at 8pm in the Church of the Sacred Heart & Saint Brigid, Kilcullen. Featuring: Dave Maguire – Tenor and Paul McKeever – Piano Admission is €12; Concessions €10


Sympathy is extended to the Grace family Uppertown on the death this week of Rosaleen’s husband John Fitzgerald. John’s funeral took place in his native Kerry, may he rest in peace.

Race Night

Get your horses in training for the Forum’s Race night on October 8th. Proceeds will go towards upgrading the Christmas lights which greatly enhance the town during the festive season. Horses can be purchased for €10 from any member of the forum.

Westside Community Games

Westside Community Games will regrettably be dissolved within 2 weeks if a committee cannot be formed.

Retirement Party

To mark the retirement of Dr Mary Kearney’s after 30 years of service as GP in Dunlavin, Donard, Hollywood and surrounding areas a social evening in Rathsallagh Golf Club on Friday 30th September @ 8pm. All are welcome. 

50th Birthday Celebrations

St. Kevin’s Community College will celebrate its 50th birthday this year. It is proposed to have a celebration on Saturday  November 19th at 7pm in the school. A meeting will take place on Wednesday  September 21st  at 8pm in Burke’s lounge to form a committee to organise the event. Anyone interested in getting involved is invited to attend. U6/U8/U10 Football Training – on Mondays at 6.30-7.30pm in Dunlavin GAA Grounds. New members always welcome. A clothes collection is now taking place – If you have used or unwanted clothes we are accepting donations every Monday evening from 7.30pm in the clubhouse.

Dunlavin’s Friendship Club – will be back on Friday, September 16th at 2.30pm. Please tell family and friends. New members welcome. If you have a neighbour that might like to attend maybe offer to drive them in.

Dunlavin’s Flower and Harvest Festival

 This year’s Flower and Harvest Festival will take place the weekend beginning Friday, 4th November.


We are currently recruiting new committed leaders for our troop from all local townlands. We are a volunteer based organisation, working with children. Full training is provided. If you think you would be interested in volunteering, please call 0862632859 for more information.

Cancer Support
