Rathdrum gets first Public Access Defibrillator

By: William O’Toole

Rathdrum now has its first Public Access defibrillator in the town, thanks to the generosity of a local business man.

Les Armstrong provided the defibrillator to the community and it will be located outside Moore’s Family Butchers on the main street.

The unit will be housed in a heated cabinet and the mounting and wiring of the cabinet will take place over the next few days.

Avoca/Conary Community first responders will them provide training and awareness in the community.

Dermot Moore, a member of the group said : ” We want to offer a huge thank you to Leslie, what a wonderful gift you have given your Community.”

Conary Responders covers a large part of the Rathdrum area as their working radius is 5miles in any direction from their base, they also cover Avoca, Ballinaclash and anywhere in between that NAS may dispatch them to.
