Wicklow mother urges all women to check against breast cancer

Wicklow mother Vicky O’Neill is urging all women, no matter what your age is to check themselves for breast cancer.

Vicky was diagnosed breast cancer three months ago and has posted the following message.

“I am a fit, healthy 36 year old mommy to five gorgeous kids, wife, sister, daughter, friend, employee, cook, cleaner, activity extraordinaire.

Cancer doesn’t give a crap about any of that.

Three months ago I was diagnosed with HER+, ER+ breast cancer.

Breast cancer affects everyone – not just women over 50.

There is no routine screening for women under 50 in Ireland and by making the time to check yourself for any irregularities in your breasts you can literally save your life.

So here it goes.. Some of my journey in photos. I’ll be posting a chemo picture every three weeks, please please please use it as a reminder.

Put down your phone, tablet, PC and take 5 minutes to check yourself.”
