Athletics training is back every Monday 7-8pm. All children welcome from 4 and upwards. As always we would reach out for more volunteers to help coach and supervise. We have a very successful club and want to keep it going. But without new helpers and volunteers it will struggle. Please don’t be shy and volunteer.
Looking forward to welcoming everyone back. Our Agm takes place on Wednesday October 19th at 8.30pm in the coffee dock of Aughrim Sports community field. Please come along even to listen to what community games is all about.
Old time Threshing and Vintage Day

The numbers: 4, 19, 26 and 27 were drawn in the Sports club lotto on Monday September 26th. The jackpot was not won. Match three winners were: Joe & Kate Kennedy, Ballydowling, Rathdrum. The jackpot is €3450.
The U8 and U10 hurling teams played their last hurling blitz of the year in rain soaked Ballinakill on Saturday 24th.
The U10 team had 2 very close games against Carnew and Blessington, winning one and losing one by the odd score on both occasions.
The 12 kids who braved the elements were: Daragh Rice, Thomas Lacey, James Lambert, Conor Wilson, Rhyan Moules, Lorcan Toomey, Mark Tyrell, Marc O’ Shea, Cillian Duffy, Jack Byrne, Corey O’ Toole, Dessie Fitzgerald.
The U8’s with 2 teams played really well also and did themselves proud against Carnew and Kilcoole, it was great to see Aughrim fielding two U8 teams with the weather being so bad:
team: Daniel Duffy, Aaron Mooney, Aaron Kavanagh, Sean Byrne, Thady O’ Sullivan, Dominic O’ Loughlin, Matthew Byrne, Sean Byrne, Jem Thomas, Peter Toomey, Ewan Doyle, Cian Delaney, Cameron Delaney, Padraic Lambert, Michael Lacey, Darragh O’ Byrne, Sophie O’ Loughlin, Vanessa Toomey.
The club would like to thank Fiona McAllister, Shane O’ Loughlin, Darren Mooney, Majella O’ Shea, Donal Rice and Sean O’ Shea for taking the time to coach these young hurlers throughout the year, without their commitment and dedication week in week out we wouldn’t have teams.
The U10 football team played their last blitz of the year on Sat last, again in poor weather conditions. The whole team played some excellent football in both their games against Baltinglass and Donard/Glen and were comfortable winners in the games.
The team was: Alex Evans, Thomas Lacey, Ryan Kinsella, Corey O’ Toole, Lorcan Toomey, Cian Keogh, Marc O’ Shea, Jack Byrne, Colm McGuckian, James Lambert, Darragh Rice, Conor Wilson, John Fanning.
A big thank you to Alan Kinsella, Ray Howes, Sean O’ Shea, Shane O’ Loughlin, Darren Mooney and Rory McElhinny for all the work they did with the U8 and U10 footballers this year.
