A man is being question by gardai in Arklow after life saving equipment was damaged on the Upper Main Street on Wednesday evening.

A defibrillator which is located at the Fun Palace close to the Vale road roundabout had the case pulled off in what was called an wanton act of vandalism by the Arklow First Responders.

The team posted the following message in their Facebook page.

“Unfortunately folks, one of your defibrillators has been the victim of a mindless act of vandalism. We received a call this evening to inform us that the defibrillator case at The Fun Palace had been pulled off the wall. Thankfully the incident was witnessed and most likely caught on CCTV. The relevant authorities have been informed and are following a definite line of inquiry. We hope to have it back up and running in the next couple of days.”
