The Old Ship B team jump up a couple of places and into third position after a 7-1 home win victory over John Joe’s B team. 15 straight legs were on the board before Jono Roche saved the day for the visitors to pull the last point out of the bag.
John Joe’s was certainly the place to be last week for entertainment purposes alone as the pub played host to two cracking matches that could have went either way.
John Joe’s Lads found themselves in an almighty tussle with The gallery Boys who served it up to home team and forced the best out of Paddy Costello in the finale to carve out a draw at 4 apiece.
John Joe’s A team had the pleasure of the Harbour Bar A team for company and again this proved to be gritty contest fought out that the away side just managed to shade with a 5-3 victory, which keeps them mid division and dangerous opponents to all.
The continuous rotation at the top of division 2 was once again evident this week.
The Gallery B were forced to respond by the Gin Mill in their match last week, which seems to have spurred them on as they came firing on all cylinder’s this week with a very highly regarded 8-0 over Sally’s B who were unbeaten coming into the encounter.
The win sails the Gallery back into a 3 point lead at the top and Jonny Quinn once again reclaims the Boss man position!
Tough night for Sally’s B but they still sit handy in fourth place. However, the other bad news for Sally’s B is Sally’s A recorded their maiden win of the season with a 5-3 win over the Gallery C.
They certainly weren’t handed any gifts in this match and had to come from 3-2 to win the match. Skipper Willie Dalton earning his stripes with a gutsy performance to see out the victory against his opposite number in the curtain closing contest.
All credit to the Brook B for bouncing back from a miserable couple of weeks to secure their first win of the season and a welcome 5 points in their match against the Corner House B.
A third defeat for the Corner B but another 3 points which seems to be a popular return for them on a weekly basis keeps them within striking distance.
Last weeks leaders of the Corner A posted their first league defeat of the season losing 5-3 to the Gin Mill.
The Gin Mill are proving to be a real tough nut to crack and their hard fought draw last week against the Gallery B coupled with a win this week means they remain undefeated and are right in contention sitting in third spot.

Feature Highlights this week include maximum 180’s for the following sharp shooters
Paddy Costello for John Joe’s Lads
Sean Reid also for John Joe’s Lads
Graham Kelly for Harbour Bar A

and a clinical 111 three dart checkout for Darragh Kelly of the Gin Mill.
We will leave the final word this week to James Cullen who exchanged 180’s with opponent Mick ‘the hawk’ O’Reilly in a belter of a singles exchange in the Gallery. The 180 was enough to hold throw in the first leg but another followed in the second leg along the way to winning the match, nothing ‘Jammy’ about that!
