Katie turns professional and will make debut next month at Wembley

Katie Taylor will begin life as a professional fighter with a Wembley Arena bout next month – before fighting on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s IBF world heavyweight title defence in December.

Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing team confirmed today that they’ve agreed terms with Bray woman, who will make her pro debut live on Sky Sports on 26 November.

Despite a disappointing Rio Games that saw the 30-year-old beaten by Finland’s Mira Potkonen in the quarter-finals, Taylor has largely dominated the amateur game, collecting five world titles, six European crowns and an Olympic gold in an astonishing career. She’s now ready for a fresh challenge.
