Annacurra notes week November 14

Community Games

Last Tuesday eveining at Wicklow Community Games Agm we were named best area in the county. This is all due to the hard work of our volunteers and the support we receive from the local schools and club. Fiona Shannon also received County Wicklow Adult Volunteer 2016 and all will be honoured along with our Steps to Health Bronze award at the National Area, Media and Volunteer Awards in Galway at the end of the month. Well done to our great little area and here’s to 2017

Since the start of our new training year the number of children participating every Monday has been fantastic with over 100 children taking part.To maintain the enjoyment and safety of all we need to look at the age groups and reorganise them based on age and ability.

We propose to establish another group outside, but to do this we need more volunteers to come forward to help with coaching and supervision. In preparation for this on Monday next 14th November we will all start in the hall and look at the groupings.

As the evening  are getting colder we would ask that all children 6 and over are dressed suitably for outdoor weather. (Cold/Rain) Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Community Games and Athletics is about our children been happy, having fun and keeping them safe.
