Arklow RNLI aid local fishing vessel

RNLB Windsor Runner our relief Lifeboat was launched within minutes in response to a call for help from a  local fishing vessel.

The vessel had become entangled in fishing gear and was adrift approximately 2 miles South East of Glasgorman Buoy. Our dedicated crew proceeded to scene and after locating the casualty vessel, established a tow line and proceeded back to Arklow with the vessel on tow.

Both crew members aboard the casualty remained aboard during the service  and all  hands came ashore safely.

Speaking following the incident, Mark Corcoran, Volunteer Lifeboat Press Officer & Community  Safety Officer said  “All persons who take to the water whether for a living or for pleasure must always wear their lifejackets and should always have a means of raising the alarm”
