On Friday night the AGM of the local GAA club took place in the  complex. It was a well
attended  meeting and members elected were as follows. .

Our outgoing Chairman Kevin Mann thanked everyone who had helped him out in any way during the year and wished Willie the best for the year ahead. He also thanked outgoing Treasurer John Gunning the best and was glad to hear that he would be going to stay on in the background to help out our new man Oisin.
He said he knew it was going to be difficult going forward next year but said the club was in good  hands and hoped  it goes from strength to strength. Everyone in attendance is looking forward to next year and hope to see more players turning up to show everyone this club is not gone away and that we will be looking for  silverware.
The club sends its condolences to the Lambert family on the sudden death of Mick. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Hazardous Waste Collection
Aughrim Tidy Towns would like to remind the community that there is a hazardous waste collection at Avoca Recycling Centre, Avoca 9.30am to 1.30pm.  Includes: Paints & solvents Batteries Fertilisers etc (see full list on  http://www.wicklow.ie/hazardous-waste ).  Materials must not be left outside collection times.

Active Retirement
At our next meeting on 6th December at 10.30am we will have a demonstration of Flower Arranging for Christmas.
Don’t forget to bring your 20 Euro for the Christmas Party – in an envelope please with your name. Also we will be taking up the charity collection – in an envelope. This year the collection will go to the Aideen Fanning Fund.
Number 17 of the Aughrim Times will be in the shops by the end of the week. Great value at only  2.50, so don’t forget to buy your copy.

Christmas Market
It’s that time of year…..thoughts of Christmas…presents and preparations…..fun and parties. Join us at Aughrim Town & Country Market at the Pavilion, Rednagh Rd on Saturdays from10am – 2pm for some Christmas cheer! Local crafts and farm fresh meat (the turkeys are being fattened for the big day), home baking including puddings and Christmas cakes made to order. Farm fresh eggs and delicious marmalades, jams and Christmas chutneys and much more!
Drop in for a mince pie and coffee beside the fire and pick up some Christmas gifts for friends and family. See you there!

Tennis Lessons
Tennis Lessons at Aughrim’s Sports Complex for all ages.  Wicklow’s only 2 indoor Tennis courts!  Perfect conditions every time!  Ongoing courses, adults, from starter, intermediate to advanced levels.  Monday mornings from 9.40-10.40 each week. Each course is standard appropriate (all equipment provided). The 5 wk course costs 50 euro pp. Please call or text David 0878166525 for more info.  Junior lessons on Monday afternoons 4.30-5.30pm for 7-12 yr olds, places limited. Christmas Fair
A limited amount of stalls are still available at the yearly Christmas Fair organized by the Aughrim Business Association in Lawless’ Hotel on Sunday December 4th from 11- 5pm.  The Fair offers a wide variety of craft stalls to find your unique Christmas presents. Many small local businesses present their services and wares on your doorstep. There are activities for children and Santa is visiting the Fair at 2.30pm so children can have a chat with him and receive a small present for free. The hotel lounge is open for lunch and refreshments during the day. The entrance fee to the Fair is free, there is a raffle with beautiful prizes provided by the stall holders and local businesses. Lotto
The numbers: 14, 15, 19 and 27 were drawn in the Sports club lotto on Monday November 14th.  The jackpot was not won. There were no match three winners. Next weeks match three winners will win or share €400. The jackpot is €4500.
