GAA News

On Sunday morning last our adult team retained their status in Division 2   of the football league with a well earned victory over an under strength Carnew side in Aughrim. This was our last game of the year and victory was essential to remain in this division. We played some good football at times and the future is bright and hopefully next year with the addition of our younger lads coming on we will go from strength to strength.  A big thank you to Trevor, Brian and Brendan for keeping it all going this year when so many things went wrong.  Hopefully we will see you all there next year because without people like these in the club where would we be.

Congratulations to the Aughrim lads who were on the victorious Luke O Toole’s team that won the Minor B final on Saturday in Arklow. It was a  remarkable victory considering they were nine points down midway through the second half but some brilliant defending and the forwards finally finding their range they some how pulled it off .  This was a the first year we had played as Luke O Toole’s  and it was a great to see that lads just want to play and perform the best of their ability at the best level .Well done to all the players and to the management  Paul, Rory and Paul.
