Dunlavin notes week November 14

Dunlavin District Forum – invites you to celebrate Christmas on the 3rd of December at 6pm in the Market house for a mulled wine and mince pie reception.

This will be followed by Christmas music and the turning on of the village Christmas lights and Christmas tree.

 

The Dunlavin Christmas Craft Market – will take place on Sunday the 4th of December in the Imaal hall, Dunlavin. Santa will also be there on the day. Please contact Bernie on 086 2872619 for stall bookings.

 

Scoil Niocláis Naofa – are hosting a welcome evening to acknowledge the retirement of Deirdre Doyle, after a 39-year teaching career in the school. This will take place in the school at 7pm on Thursday, December 1st. The school’s new library will be opened by Deirdre and refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

 

Thank You – Dunlavin’s St. Vincent de Paul appreciated the €800 in vouchers received from the Funlavin Committee.

 

West Wicklow Day Care – The Christmas Tree Lighting carol service will take place on Sunday 4th December at 3pm in the hospital grounds. All are welcome to attend and take part in this service. You can shine a light in memory of Family and Friends no longer with us by sponsoring a light for €5 on the Christmas Tree. Light sponsorship and cards are available from Baltinglass library, local shops in Baltinglass or by contacting Mary Jackman at 085 7154262 or Renee O’Toole at 086 8477319.

 

West Wicklow Cancer Support – The drop-in meeting on Thursday 24th November at 7.30pm in the Coimin Centre, Blessington, will include a talk by Liz Shine, a Dream Therapist. All are welcome and feel free to bring a friend. 

 

Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to the Kelly  family, Logatryna on the death  of their father Jim last week. Jim is mourned by his daughters Trish and Julie, sons Jimmy and Billy and many relatives and friends .Jim’s funeral took place in Dunlavin on Thursday November 3rd 2016.  May he rest in peace.

Advent Fare

The annual Grangebeg Camphill advent fare will take place on December 11th 2016 2pm to 5pm. All are welcome. Stalls €20.

 

St. Kevin’s Community College – will celebrate its 50th birthday this year. The celebrationwill take place on Saturday, Nov 19th at 7pm in the school. Past pupils are asked to spread the word to former pupils. Old photographs relating to St. Kevin’s are also required. These photographs can be left into the school office they will be photocopied and returned. A social night will take place in Rathsallagh Golf Club following the formal part of the evening in the school. For more details, contact 0879693960.

 

Sympathy – is extended to the family of Jim Toomey, Logatryna who died last week.  Jim who was predeceased by his wife Sheila is mourned by his daughters Mary and Catherine, son James, sister Anne and many relatives and friends. Jim’s funeral Mass took place in Dunlavin on Saturday November 5th 2016 and burial took place in Gormanstown Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
