A ferry which left Rosslare bound for Fishguard at 9am has failed to dock due to adverse weather.
The ferry was due in at the Welsh port at 12.30 pm but an initial attempt to reach the port failed.
Efforts to dock were also made at 3.30 pm but this was also unsuccessful.
Stena Line have said in a statement that the ferry was ‘about six kilometres off-shore and would remain there until morning.
It is understood that their is 87 passengers and 59 crew on board.
“The safety of those on the vessel was “of paramount importance”,
“Another attempt at docking will be made at around midday tomorrow.”
Stena Line has also cancelled its sailing at 9.15pm from Rosslare to Fishguard because of the poor weather conditions.

Met Eireann has issued a status yellow warning for Wicklow and Wexford which is due to remain in place until tomorrow.
Heavy rain has also effected large parts of Wales leading to homes and schools being flooded.
