Laragh Glendalough notes week November 21

Glendalough Christmas Fair on December 11th                                                                                                                                           

 Join us in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh for our annual festive day out this December. Get your unique Christmas gifts, homemade baking, art, books, photography, wood turning, antiques, wreaths, fairy doors, Christmas cards and lots more. Christmas Tea Dance                                                                                                                                                           

On the 27th of November there will be a tea dance at the Brockagh Resource Centre from 3pm to 6pm with music by The Wicklow Man. Pre-Christmas fun before a busy December kicks in, a spacious hall where you can dance away the afternoon, brightening the winter months with old and new friends. Groups from any area are very welcome, large or small just call 0404 45600 to book in a group.

Mindful Athletic Performance Workshop                                                                                                                                             

This course is for athletes who would like to get more from their sports performance, be more present and in the moment when training or competing, learn to modify their behaviour with awareness, overcome negative beliefs or thoughts that are holding your performance back, would like to achieve and realize their goals. Get Ireland Walking                                                                                                                                 

Get Ireland Walking aims to promote, encourage and support people to get walking while unifying the efforts of all recreation, sporting and health promotion agencies and associations interested in promoting walking. In association with Get Ireland Walking, Wicklow Local Sports Partnership & Brockagh Resource Centre are organising leisurely weekly walks in the area starting on Monday 5th December at 10am from the centre in Laragh. Everyone is welcome to come along to walk at their own pace for less than one hour. All ages and abilities are welcome. Get Ireland Walking is funded by the Irish Sports Council and the HSE, and supported by the Irish Heart Foundation, Mountaineering Ireland, Age and Opportunity, GAA, Arthritis Ireland and others.  Are you looking for some company on those lonely winter evening walks, well we can help. Cinderella Show

Drama School                                                                                                                                                 

Drama classes are a fantastic way of developing confidence and encouraging creativity and imagination. Drama modules will incorporate improvisation, mime, script work, vocal training and acting skills. 

Students will also learn from the Irish Board of Speech and Drama syllabus and be afforded opportunities to take graded examinations under a fully qualified teacher. Elevation holds a 100% pass rate in IBSD examinations. Elevation Drama Junior (5.45-6.45pm) is held at the Brockagh Centre. Contact Kate on 086 8256775.


Elevation Dance School                                                                                                                   

 Classes are even bigger and better this year with a huge opportunity for all of our students at Christmas. NFA Productions are producing a travelling Christmas Panto which will be coming to the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh on Dec 17th and 18th.  Go to or contact Kate to find out more about her dance class. We Love Art                                                                                                                                           

 Art and crafts classes for kids, on Monday afternoons at the Brockagh Centre. Classes cover a wide range of art and craft forms. We work with lots of different materials and learn new skills and techniques with every project. It’s all about the joy of making! Please note new times for 2016/17 are age 4-6 (JI&SI) 1.45 – 2.30, age 7-9 (1st to 3rd class) 2.40 – 3.40, age 10-12 (4th to 6th class) 3.45 – 4.45. Contact Almha at or phone or txt 086 3897732.
