Motorists urged to drive with caution as temperatures drop

Widespread frost has been predicted across the county tonight and tomorrow morning, motorists are advised to drive with caution.

Gardai are reporting low temperatures in most regions across the country.

Remember gentle manoeuvres are the key to safe driving in wintry conditions such as frost and ice.

Cold tonight with further showers, some wintry. Frost in places also with a risk of icy patches. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 3 degrees. Westerly winds will be moderate to fresh.

Tomorrow friday
Cold with passing showers again tomorrow, some wintry at first, but later in the day the showers will become less frequent with more in the way of sunshine. Highest temperatures of only 5 to 8 degrees. Moderate to fresh west to northwest winds will decrease light to moderate by evening.
