PURE to introduce CCTV to combat illegal dumping

The PURE (Protecting Uplands and Rural Environments) Project are set to introduce CCTV in the Wicklow and Dublin mountains to combat illegal dumping.

The project which is now in its 10th year has removed almost 3’000 tonnes of litter from around county Wicklow and the south county Dublin uplands.

The cameras will be located at viewing spots, car parks and entrances to forest tracks.

The PURE Project recently held the PURE mile awards at the Brooklodge, this year saw record entries.
